Bannerstone, Ferruginous Quartz, Bottle, Bi-Face: A highly developed form and likely near the best of its type. A beautiful mix of cream, reddish-orange and burgundy; good condition. 2 7/8 x 2 1/4 Jefferson Co. Illinois Found by Stanley Mick on the Merkel farm four miles west of Ina. Pictured in the July 1966 Redskin by Gray LaDassor wherein he noted it to be the finest of its type so far discovered. Also pictured in WW# page 8, Lutz page 414-6, and Legends II page 30. T4027 |
