Birdstone, Pipestone, Popeye, Bust: Among the rarest of birdstone materials and types. Nicely polished with button popeyes and a narrow base. So special is this specimen that the Smithsonian retains a cast of it in their collection; good condition. 2 5/8 x 1 3/8 Summit Co. Ohio Found in May 1896 in the northern part of Boston near the Cuyahoga River. From the collection of Dr. Gordon Meuser (his # 3393 over 5). Pictured prominently in BNAI on page 237 and 567-A & B.
